Tanzania is seeking new Indonesian investment in agriculture and agro‑processing. It also aims to attract investment in mining, energy, and tourism. The country works to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries. Finance Minister Khamis Mussa Omary made the call during a meeting with Indonesia’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Tri Yogo Jatmiko Avetisyan.
Officials said the partnership aims to strengthen long‑standing ties that date back to 1964. Indonesia has supported Tanzania through financial assistance, technical skill and capacity‑building programmes. More than 170 Tanzanians have benefitted from Indonesian training in agriculture, livestock, mining, energy, fisheries and finance.
Tanzania wants Indonesian investors to explore opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure, health, education and other sectors that can support national development. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in areas that can boost productivity and improve human capital.
The discussions form part of broader efforts to enhance trade and attract foreign investment into value‑addition industries. Tanzania hopes new partnerships will support its economic transformation and help create long‑term growth.
