Ghana has finalised a new defence acquisition that includes the world’s most technologically advanced ACH160 helicopter. The aircraft forms part of a four-helicopter deal signed with Airbus to upgrade national air capabilities.
ACH160 helicopter strengthens Ghana’s air capabilities
The deal includes two H175M multi mission helicopters, one ACH175, and one ACH160. The ACH160 will support government and VIP transport. The H175M aircraft will support troop movement, search and rescue, medical services, and disaster relief.
Airbus said the agreement marks its strengthened return to Ghana and will help replace ageing aircraft. The company will provide long term support to ensure operational readiness.
ACH160 helicopter brings advanced technology to Ghana
The ACH160 is the most technologically advanced helicopter in its class. It features 68 patented technologies, a Helionix flight deck, low vibration rotor systems, and increased cabin comfort. These upgrades improve safety and situational awareness for government missions.
H175M boosts defence and humanitarian missions
The H175M offers long range capability and strong payload performance. The aircraft is designed for demanding environments and enhances Ghana’s capacity to operate in complex security and humanitarian settings.
Airbus confirmed that Ghana is now a leading West African customer for its premium corporate helicopters, including the ACH160 and ACH175.
